About Me

When I ventured to Morocco in 2019, I was a fresh-faced 21-year-old, eager to immerse myself in a new country and become a temporary international journalist. Writing had always been a passion of mine, and so had the topic of women’s rights, as I had found in my studies at the University of Colorado Boulder. My study abroad experience led me to sipping mint tea with women from rural villages in southern Morocco to interviewing high profile human rights activists up north. I knew from that semester my junior year of college that reporting was in my blood. I walked away with a feature on the medical delivery of virginity certificates to young women in the country — and I was proud of it.

When I returned to Colorado that following summer, I knew my experience in the North African kingdom wasn’t behind me. I spent my senior year of college pursuing an honors thesis on the Western media representation of Muslim women, reflecting on my own experience as an international reporter in Morocco and weaving it with existing literature in the field. I earned the highest honors distinction of Summa Cum Laude for this project.

Now with over six years of experience as a professional journalist, I’ve found my niche in magazine writing and editing. From travel, wellness and fashion to arts, culture and the outdoors, my reporting has taken me across the globe.

“If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot.”

My work

I love to tell stories that are often left untold, whether it’s exemplifying the voices of veterans with PTSD or rural farmers whose land is being extracted from them. I currently work as the Managing Editor of Jaunt Media Collective, and most recently was the Managing Editor of 303 Magazine, a leading media platform in Denver.

Outside of writing, I am an avid reader, hiker and yoga teacher. My yoga classes are inspired by nature and anatomy. I believe an authentic yoga practice is a beautiful avenue to become one’s greatest self. You’ll often find me waking up with the sun and flowing through one too many sun salutations before I bury myself in my computer, glasses on.
